(4) The coefficient of thermal expansion and elastic modulus are small. The thermal expansion coefficient and elastic modulus of titanium alloy material are smaller than that of nickel alloy and steel material, and the thermal stress generated by titanium alloy is very small in the same temperature range, so titanium alloy has higher thermal fatigue performance.
(5) No magnetic. The permeability of titanium alloy is very small and almost negligible, so titanium alloy fasteners are non-magnetic and can effectively prevent magnetic field interference. Austenitic stainless steel is also non-magnetic, but the subsequent cold processing will increase its magnetism, and the hot or cold processing of titanium alloy does not change its magnetism, which makes titanium alloy can be applied in avionics equipment.
(6) High yield ratio. The critical strength standard for the design of fasteners under tensile load is the yield strength, followed by the tensile strength, because once the fastener produces yield deformation, it will lose its fastening effect. Compared with iron and steel materials, the yield strength of titanium alloy is close to the tensile strength, and the bending strength ratio is high, so the safety of titanium alloy fasteners is high.
(7) The electrode potential is matched with the carbon fiber composite material. In the fasteners, the important reason for the huge amount of titanium alloy is that the electrode potential of titanium alloy matches the electrode potential of carbon fiber composite material, which effectively prevents the occurrence of galvanic corrosion.
(8) In addition, titanium alloy also has excellent corrosion resistance, high creep resistance and other advantages.
